Departure from the community of Montrouge

Departure from the community of Montrouge

On April 24, a mass was celebrated at the Church of St. Jacques in Montrouge on the occasion of the closing of the community of the Little Sisters of the Assumption. This mass, presided over by the bishop, Fr Matheu Rougé, was in thanksgiving for all that had been lived by several generations of LSA.

Here are some extracts from the words shared at the end of this Eucharist:

Our Founder, Father Pernet, liked to say to the Little Sisters: “attach yourself strongly, detach yourself simply”.

Yes, we have been strongly attached to the reality of Montrouge for many years, which have seen many Little Sisters come and go: through family work, home care, social service and over time through our presence in the various neighbourhood associations and also a strong presence in the parish (Catechumenate, Welcome, SEM, Choir, presence to bereaved families, Saint Vincent de Paul Conference, EAP, ACE club accompaniment, leisure club)

From these shared moments, we have received much:

*By being witnesses of the vitality of our Church

*By sharing the joys and worries of each one, with each other

Through our times of community prayer, we have entrusted to the Lord all this life

The time has come to “simply” leave.

Is it not an attitude that we find in the Word of God, especially in the book of Genesis:

“Leave your country and go to the land that I will show you”.

We ask you to accompany us with your prayer,

To implore the Holy Spirit, that young people discover the joy of giving and serving in the Apostolic Religious Life ,and why not with the LSA

That we may always be in Antony, Paris 14° and Paris 15°, consecrated women, religious and apostles at the service of the little ones

The celebration ended with a Magnificat performed by our young sisters
