“Hope in times of coronavirus.”

“Hope in times of coronavirus.”

In this particular Lent, a new road map: crossing the desert, praying and rediscovering Eucharistic hunger. To live what thousands of Christians around the world are living. To rediscover wonder. Getting out of our routines…

And in this total fog, navigate on sight, relearn confidence, real confidence. Surrender to Providence. And learn to stop too. For it took a tiny, invisible, derisory virus, which laughs in our faces, to stop our mad rush.
And at the end, the hope of Easter, the victory of life at the end of this long Lent, which will also be an explosion of newfound embraces, gestures of affection and a long hoped-for communion, after a long fast.

And we will be able to say with St. Francis
“Praised be Thou, O Lord, for fratello Coronavirus, who has taught us again humility, the value of life and communion! ».
Courage, do not be afraid: I have conquered the world! (Jn 16:33)

To the Little Sisters of the Assumption and friends

In just a few months, our world has just been turned upside down, questioned by the epidemic that is spreading in many countries. Governments, all sectors of society, and every individual can probably reflect on this feeling that awaits us all, of omnipotence, and also to be aware of what we must live today.
Alone we cannot win. Let us reawaken the calls for solidarity, mutual support and compassion.

Our latest Congregational texts express our choices of solidarity, compassion, hospitality, and going out to meet the other. We are at the heart of this situation and are strongly called to live it. Many people will suffer from being confined to their home. Let us not forget those who are alone, let us not forget our neighbors and let us find ways to make contact with them, to offer a service within the set framework of what is possible. Let us also be in solidarity through prayer.

(Excerpt from a letter from M. Françoise Phelippeau, Superior General of the Little Sisters of the Assumption).

LET US PRAY

Lord, you who watches over every one of your children,
We confide in you!
Give our time the grace of healing.
Help the sick, the caregivers and the grieving families.
Bring attention to those who are isolated,
fragile or discouraged.
Make faith, hope and charity grow in us.
Through the intercession of the Virgin Mary,
and all the saints,
make us, in the strength of the Spirit,
witnesses of the Light, your resurrected Son. Amen!
