A new stage begins at the Congregation’s archives
On April 25, at the Mother House, Sr. Madeleine Rémond, General Archivist of the Little Sisters of the Assumption for 21 years, left this service
She found it appealing, and even became passionate about it. Not only because the organisation and the filing can please her, but because she was able to explore, to dig into the roots, the “source” of our Congregation.
She was concerned to transmit our history to the sisters on the occasion of Congregational Assemblies, Formation Sessions for Novices and young sisters, and to respond to the individual requests of some.
One can also name the numerous occasions of meetings, encounters and relations with archivists of the congregations of France… And no doubt many other things. She lived all this in the real sense of her mission.
One day we are all called to let go. It is the moment of professional retirement for some or others, or of changes of situation, and for us little sisters, a sending to another community to live a new community and apostolic mission.
We wish her well in continuing this journey in fidelity to her vocation and we say again our warm and fraternal thanks.
She is now handing over to a laywoman, Céline HIRSCH-POYNARD , archivist, who will assume this responsibility.
A big thank you to Sr Madeleine for all that she has given us and welcome to Céline who is beginning this new journey with us, discovering our spirituality and our origins.
