Fabrice, who became a nurse in Fianarantsoa, Madagascar
Fabrice, a local youngster, benefited from nutritional support at the Little Sisters of the Assumption Centre during his childhood; he then joined the pre-school class in 2003 and remained in the tutoring programme until his third year. In 2019, he obtained his baccalauréat with honours after high school. He then followed the paramedical course at Le Rossignol to become a nurse.
He now works at Funfia in the career he had hoped for. He’s still proud to be a child of Sahalava, and we’re just as proud to see his future shine! Mrs Appoline
School Support Centre in Fianarantsoa: what does it involve?
Created in 2003 by the Little Sisters of the Assumption, the School Support Centre offers personalised support for primary and secondary school pupils, with a holistic approach that values the skills and dignity of local children and their families. The programme aims to improve academic performance and encourage graduation, while meeting the socio-economic needs of families through support activities (cultural outings, snacks, school supplies and loans).
Under the governance of the Little Sisters, managed by a passionate team including the management, teachers/educators and volunteers, and supported by donors, the project benefits from grants and donations to achieve its objectives.
Enabling children to follow an educational pathway through to university and young people to find a job for the future has a significant impact on their development and professional integration.
If you would like to support this mission, you can make a donation.
