A new project begins in the DRC… all dreams are permitted!

A common passion, God and poor people
Two years ago, the Little Sisters acquired land in a village 80 kilometres from Kinshasa. It was the start of a great project and a wonderful story!
Our goal is to create a space for cultivation and planting in order to feed ourselves and contribute, in the long term, to the sisters’ self-financing. We also want to work with the local people, sharing their joys and sorrows, in the spirit of justice, peace and the integrity of creation.
This field to be cultivated together is a great opportunity, a great challenge, a great treasure. Thanks to the friendships we’ve already made on the ground, we’re happy to be working on this uncultivated land, which is just waiting to let its fertility spring forth…
cultivating a large field can’t be improvised! You must invest heavily in human, technical and financial resources to get it off to a good start. This is the mission to which the sisters of Kinshasa, and more particularly the community of Mpasa, devote all their energy and know-how, particularly with the skills of Sr Gina, trained in agriculture and animal husbandry.
Nine months… the gestation period to give birth to this impressive adventure. It’s clear that taking ownership of this land will happen in stages. During this first year of operation, the words ‘clearing’, ‘ploughing’, ‘sowing’, “weeding” and ‘harvesting’ resounded across a few hectares…
So many joyful efforts shared with the villagers, rewarded by the first harvests of maize, aubergines, manioc, pundu and groundnuts, which everyone was able to enjoy.
Such fertility, combined with the grace of sun and rain, is the source of a promising future where everything remains to be invented in the sharing of this precious asset that is Mother Earth!
We still have a lot of development work to do and we need your help to grow!
To support us in our mission in the DRC, don’t hesitate to make a donation!
